This episode is for you if:

  • You’re a creative business owner who wants a community
  • You’d love some tips in growing your online business strategically
  • There’s no time for fluff, you want real strategy for growth

“It can be suffocating how many options are out there and not knowing which one to go with…”

Ever felt lost in the abyss of decision making? In online business the options for growing your presence are endless. But there are strategic decision making moves you can make to get your business going in the right direction.

Meet Kat Schmoyer

Founder of two six figure businesses, Kat is a creative entrepreneur on a mission to help other creative businesses thrive. She’s a mom of a very handsome little man under 1 and she’s all things feisty and fun when it comes to business.

Pro Tip: For true growth, it’s all about trial and error and moving forward.

Being a Profitable Business Owner

It’s all about what people (your audience) are looking for.

So, can your idea work? Is it profitable? And, as a company, are you going to enjoy offering this with your brand. If you start something new, any idea must meet this criteria.

Pro Tip: Think in terms of revenue streams. Look at the revenue streams you’re creating and think in terms of how you can continue to serve your audience better.

Being an entrepreneur with an online business is about brand awareness. It’s a lot about launch strategies and understanding content planning, so you can grow a brand that provides your audience with a family feel, gives you die-hard fans, and grows a tribe of people that want to be a part of what you’re doing.

Steps to building strong content:

  • Understand who your ideal client is and what he/she is looking for. What are the pain points, and how are you serving those pain points?
  • Turn their want into a need. Ex. no bride has to have a wedding planner, but I want them to feel like they do need my services.
  • Be consistent when talking to that person (have a game plan for the platforms you choose to reach your audience).

Avoiding the Overwhelm

Alright, if you’ve listened to the podcast then you hear this quite a bit. Time block, assess your mental health and then react accordingly.

If you’re feeling burnt out, take a break. Kat says online businesses fail because they get burnt out and bogged down with all the to-dos and the challenges of algorithms, content that needs to be written, and email management. Not to mention being the CPA and the human resource manager of your business. They get bogged down with all the hats and don’t have the community surrounding them to help them remember why they started in the first place.

Does this sound like you right now? 1. Take a break. 2. Go back to your why and why it’s better than other alternatives (aka that job you quit)

For Kat, it’s remembering the heart she has for small business… and yes, this happens to people like Kat who are extremely successful in online business. Keep up your hard work!

Pro Tip: Find a community somewhere, and heck even make one of your own on Instagram or Facebook.
