This episode is for you if:

  • You want to build a business that delivers excellent value to your audience
  • You want to up-level your business in creative ways that build community
  • You’re interested in learning some basics in productivity and marketing for success

“Sometimes people work harder than they need to because they’re not being intentional enough in their business”

Meyer’s journey began when she was kicked out of a mom’s Facebook group for sharing a local sale. She decided to form her own FB group where mom’s could share motherhood tips as well as grow their business, and overnight 250 women joined.

Within one year the business had grown to 9,000 members and now, the business has become Mompire– the online directory of mom owned businesses.

Pro Tip: You can grow a community from just a simple (or complex) need you’ve experienced.

On Growing your Business

“Get intentional”

Online businesses fail because they don’t have a customer journey, a sales process, and they’re not capturing leads.

Pro Tip: You need strong copy. Avoid getting “fluffy” and rambling about your business. Get to the point and clearly state what you do, what you offer, and how it will benefit your audience. Do this over and over and over.

Meyer says she’s all about the old-school marketing ways. Invest in a community, network, and build real relationships, even in the online space. Let them know what you do, that you care, and let them refer your services or products.

Market Hacks

1. Be consistent. Once you’ve delivered a sale, continue to communicate how the product or service can be used to best benefit your audience.

2. Don’t be afraid of the sale and don’t be afraid of money. People want a solution, that’s why they’ve discovered you. You’re giving money in exchange for a service or product to enjoy, consume or use to build an income. So, dive all in!

Productivity Hacks

Choose a day of the week to map out the goals for the entire month.

Join a peer mastermind group that offers massive accountability to meet your goals (this can be paid or non-paid).

If you feel like you are always under pressure, re-evaluate the situation. Are you really as necessary to your family or business as you believe? Take time off and get intentional with your business.
